Ratings & Labels
Stars, color labels, and compatibility with other applications.
Stars
Rating from 1 to 5 stars. Pressing the same key again or 0 resets the rating. Works in the gallery, viewer, and Showcase.
Color labels
8 colors: 1 – 8. Press 0 to remove the label. The label is visible as a strip at the top of the card in the gallery.
Digit key mode
Digit keys assign either stars or color labels — depending on the mode in settings (General → Digit keys). Ctrl + digit — quick access to the other option without switching mode.
Batch apply
Select multiple photos and press a digit — the rating is applied to all of them at once.
Compatibility
Ratings and labels are written to .xmp sidecar files next to photos. Open the same files in Lightroom, Capture One, Photo Mechanic, or Bridge — your ratings will be there.
Undo
⌘Z — undo, ⌘⇧Z — redo. Undo works for ratings, labels, renames, deletions, and moves.
